Puppy to-do list. Before you buy or adopt a puppy, it’s important to go through a little checklist to make sure you’re ready to welcome them into your home. Make sure that you’ve puppy-proofed your house. Food shouldn’t be stored close to the ground, and anything fragile should be kept above the level of your puppy’s constantly wagging tail. You’ll need an outdoor area where your puppy can do its business, and should have also planned for some area where your puppy can get its exercise and play. This doesn’t have to be your personal yard, as there are lots of public dog parks you can go to. Finally, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got some bedding, a kennel, toys, dog food, a food and water dish and any other pet accessories you want to make your puppy’s life as comfortable as possible.
